True travelers aren’t going to Sin City just to get free drinks at the blackjack table while staying at a pricey hotel on the strip. Many tourists will tell you that staying in the greater Vegas area is a great idea because it is a fantastic jumping-off point to see the wide variety of natural wonders and man made monuments that dot the surrounding area.

It’s not just visitors who are taking advantage of what the area has to offer–you can find locals out hiking, biking, and kayaking nearly every weekend. If you’re heading to Las Vegas, it is worth looking into an Antelope Canyon tour for a one-of-a-kind adventure.

Bryce Canyon

Bryce is all about hoodoos; hoodoos are eroded soft stone columns that dot the landscape at Bryce Canyon. Sometimes they stand on their own, other times they form rocky wall formations with hundreds of peaks. These formations can be found in many places around the world as a result of varying weather conditions. At Bryce Canyon, hoodoos are formed and continue changing shape due to the more than 200 freeze-thaw cycles each year that happen because of the canyon’s altitude of 7,600 feet.

Antelope Canyon

Whether you’ve heard of Antelope Canyon or not, you’ve probably seen photos of this iconic slot canyon. Antelope Canyon is one of the most photographed slot canyons in the world and sits on land owned by the Native American Navajo Nation. Join a local tour given by a Navajo guide, and they will take you through the canyon to see its various wonders.

Some might wonder if Lower Antelope Canyon is good for children. If this is something on your mind, take comfort in knowing that all areas of the canyon open to guided tours are accessible for people of all ages.

Zion National Park

People who visit Zion often comment that they feel a sense of magic in the park–Zion is known as one of America's most incredible national parks for good reason. It has famous points of interest that you’ve likely seen gracing the cover of National Geographic and other famous travel journals.

The Narrows is one of the highlights of Zion with walls that soar 1,000 feet high on each side with only a twenty- to a thirty-foot gap between them and a river running through the middle. For the more adventurous souls, another epic site at Zion is Angels Landing, which offers fantastic panoramic views of the canyon below. The famous trail usually used to get there is cut into solid rock and is a five-hour, strenuous round-trip hike.

Monument Valley

Monument Valley has served as a backdrop to many film classics, including Back to the Future III, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Forrest Gump. If you’re in Las Vegas, take some time to experience this true wonder of nature by taking a once-in-a-lifetime drive through the valley.

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon needs no introduction whatsoever. It is the largest canyon on earth at 277 miles long and almost eighteen miles wide; to see everything in the Grand Canyon would take quite a while, but you can visit some of the most famous points of interest in just a day or two.

Bundle the Sites Together

While it might be possible to rush through a bunch of these sites, it would involve an exhaustive amount of driving with extremely early starts and very late returns to do so. Fortunately, MaxTour has you covered with all-inclusive weekend trips to all of the sites above, so you can easily make the most out of your sightseeing vacation!
